This major virtual event will focus on the biggest issues affecting the water sector, from Covid-19 to progress towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Registration is now open for major IWA virtual congress. IRC is one of the supporters of the Digital World Water Congress.

In these challenging times, many organisations, including IWA have had to review their approach to running events. Notably, for IWA, our industry-leading World Water Congress has been postponed to September 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will still be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, with more details to be announced in due course.

In the meantime, IWA is delighted to confirm that we will be hosting the Digital World Water Congress, which will take place virtually from 24 May - 4 June 2021. This major online event will focus on the biggest issues affecting the water sector, from Covid-19 to progress towards reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Digital World Water Congress represents one of the biggest online events for water professionals covering the full water cycle. It includes 32 hours of content and activity, spans across eight days and covers multiple time zones to accommodate a global audience.

The event consists of plenary sessions with keynote speakers, technical presentations from industry experts, smart-networking and social opportunities accessible through a dedicated platform. There will also be a poster hall, with presentations and Q&As available from each author.

The programme will be based on six key industry themes, specifically:

1)      Water utility management
2)      Wastewater treatment & resource recovery
3)      Drinking water & potable reuse
4)      City-scale planning and operations
5)      Communities, communication & partnerships
6)      Water resources & large-scale water management
