Abstract | This note presents contract modalities introduced to improve urban water supply and sewerage services in South Asia with support from the Asian Development Bank, including through performance-based construct and operate contracts and design-build-operate contracts. The note was prepared based on a review of six contracts in Bangladesh and India. As most of these contracts are still being tendered or at the implementation stage, lessons extracted here refer essentially to the design and tender phases. |
